Why gunite, why here

Level water. Unlevel ground.

Rocky terrain, caliche soil and grades that never sit still are normal out here. A gunite shell is formed in place, so it follows the slope, sits on a raised wall or curves around an oak, and the waterline still comes out dead level.

No subs on design. The same crew carries your pool from excavation to tile, and Pentair and Zodiac equipment goes in with a three-year manufacturer warranty.

How a Hill Country pool gets built
Waterline
  1. Deck and copingTravertine, flagstone or concrete set to the same level as the water, so the pool and the patio read as one piece of work.
  2. Gunite shellShot on site and shaped to whatever the ground allows. Every shell carries a lifetime structural warranty.
  3. CalicheHard, chalky subsoil that turns most backyard digs into rock work. Planned for at the site visit, not discovered on day three.
  4. LimestoneBroken or blasted where the pool has to go, with retaining walls and drainage engineered in-house.

The job that says it best

SYNC at Purgatory Creek: pools down six weeks, back open in one.

  3. 1 week

“I called Pools Unlimited when we had issues with a different company we were using for resurfacing at SYNC at Purgatory Creek. Our pools had already been down for a month and a half so time was very important. They came 3 days later and finished in 1 week! The pools look great, they did an excellent job! Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new build or resurfacing.”

Jennifer Burton, Google review
“They did a great job on our pool and gave us everything that we hoped for at a fair price.”
Doug Richardson, Google
“They replaced the pool control system. Did an excellent job, we are extremely happy.”

Before the site visit

What Hill Country homeowners ask first.

Paying over time? See the lenders on the financing page.

Most projects run 6 to 24 weeks from the first visit to handoff. Design takes 1 to 2 weeks with 3D renderings, permits and engineering 2 to 4 weeks, and the build itself 4 to 18 weeks depending on size, rock and features. You get weekly updates while we build.

Rocky terrain, caliche soil and unpredictable grades are normal here. A gunite shell is shaped on site to whatever the ground allows, so it can follow a slope, sit on a raised wall or tuck under an oak. Every gunite shell we build carries a lifetime structural warranty.

Most Hill Country pools run between $75,000 and $450,000. Rocky lots add roughly $8,000 to $25,000 for excavation and sloped lots $15,000 to $40,000. You get a fixed-price contract before any digging starts.

Yes. We re-plaster, re-tile, replace coping, upgrade equipment and add LED lighting and automation, and we reshape or fully rebuild when the shell calls for it. A renovation usually takes 6 to 10 weeks, and if a new build makes more sense we will tell you on the free on-site visit.

Yes, through Lyon Financial, LightStream and LendingClub. Typical terms run 5 to 20 years at a fixed rate, and Lyon Financial lends up to $150,000. You apply directly with the lender.

We are based at 33145 Stahl Lane in Bulverde and build across San Antonio, Spring Branch, Blanco, Boerne, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Johnson City, Marble Falls, Fredericksburg, Wimberley and the ranches in between.
