What we build

One crew, four kinds of pool work, one level line.

New gunite pools lead the list. Renovations, outdoor living and commercial pools follow from the same hands, so the deck, the wall and the water all meet at the same height.

Every job starts with a free on-site visit and ends with a fixed-price contract.

Where most of our work starts

Custom gunite pools

Designed for your yard and engineered for Hill Country geology. Rocky terrain, caliche soil and grades that never sit still are the reason we build in gunite: the shell is shaped on site to whatever the ground allows.

  • Tanning ledges and raised spas
  • Grottos, caves and waterfalls
  • Infinity edges and swim-up bars
  • Beach entries, bubblers and jets
  • Fire and water features, custom lighting

Pool renovations

Rough plaster, cracked tile, worn coping, a pool that looks like 2003. We re-plaster, re-tile, replace coping, upgrade equipment, add LED lighting and automation, and reshape or fully rebuild when the shell calls for it. An old single-speed pump can cost $150 to $300 a month more to run than a modern variable-speed system, and if a new build makes more sense, we say so after the free assessment.

Outdoor living

Patios and decking in concrete, travertine, flagstone or pavers, plus outdoor kitchens, pergolas and shade structures, gas fire features, retaining walls and landscape lighting. Because one crew builds the pool and the deck, the two meet at the same level.

Commercial pools

Hotels and resorts, HOAs and community pools, apartment and condominium complexes, boutique hotels, vacation rentals and private clubs. Filtration is sized for bather load, ADA compliance is built in, the structural engineering is stamped, and TDLR, TCEQ and local permitting stay with us instead of landing on your desk.

Commercial work

Below the waterline

Five phases, about 6 to 24 weeks from first visit to first swim.

The long phase is the build, and how long it runs depends on the rock, the slope and the features you choose. Everything before it is paperwork and drawings we keep moving.

  1. Consult

    1 visit

A phone call or a walk of the yard. We look at the grade, the rock and where the water wants to sit.

  2. Design

    1 to 2 weeks

3D renderings and material samples, drawn by the same people who will build it.

  3. Permits

    2 to 4 weeks

Survey and engineering, then the permit paperwork, handled in-house.

  4. Build

    4 to 18 weeks

Excavation through tile, with a weekly update so you always know where the crew is.

  5. Handoff

    1 visit

A walkthrough, Pool School training on your equipment and the warranty in writing.

Wondering what the build phase costs before you commit to the rest? Our financing page lays out the lenders we work with and the term lengths each one offers.

What we put in writing at handoff.

The warranty arrives at the Pool School walkthrough, in writing, alongside the training on your own equipment.

  • Lifetime

Lifetime Warranty on the structural gunite shell

The shell is the part nobody wants to dig up twice, so it carries the longest promise we make.

  • 1 year

1-Year Workmanship Warranty on tile and stone coping

The edge of the pool is where the eye lands first, and where bad setting shows first.

  • 3 years

3-Year Manufacturer Warranty on equipment we install

Pentair and Zodiac pumps, filters and heaters, covered by the maker for three years.

Walk the yard with us before anyone digs.

The site visit is free. You get 3D renderings and a fixed-price contract before work begins. If you are not sure which of the four kinds of work you need, start with the visit and we will sort it out on the ground. Not sure where we build? Check the towns we serve.
