Commercial pools
Commercial pools built to code and built to last
Hotels, HOAs, apartment communities and clubs get the same in-house design, fixed-price contract and single crew we bring to every residential build, at a larger scope.
Who we build commercial pools for
Commercial pools carry a different level of responsibility than residential builds. They serve more people, face more scrutiny and need to run reliably day after day. We build for hotels and resorts, HOAs and community pools, apartment and condominium complexes, boutique hotels and vacation rentals, and private clubs and recreational facilities.
The crew is the one that builds our residential pools, and the approach carries over: in-house design, a fixed-price contract and one crew from start to finish. What changes is scale, with larger pools, higher bather loads, commercial filtration and the added permitting that comes with a public or semi-public facility.
We have worked across the Hill Country since 2000, and we know what commercial clients need from a builder: someone who shows up, communicates clearly and delivers on time.

How a commercial build differs from a residential one
A commercial pool is not a bigger version of a residential pool. The systems, the engineering and the compliance requirements are different. Filtration and sanitization are specified for the actual bather load, not the minimum the code allows.
Every build meets ADA requirements for entry, egress, handrails and depth markings, and the documentation comes with it. Automation and remote monitoring help keep the pool compliant and keep operating costs down. Every commercial project includes stamped structural engineering drawings, ready for any jurisdiction.
Finishes are commercial grade, chosen to withstand heavy use and aggressive sanitization year round. TCEQ permitting, including submittals and inspections, is managed in-house, so the property owner or developer is not left running that process alone.
Resurfacing a community pool and getting it back open
Pools Unlimited builds new commercial pools and resurfaces existing ones. A resurfacing job at SYNC at Purgatory Creek shows what that looks like when time is the main constraint.
Jennifer Burton wrote in a Google review that the pools at SYNC at Purgatory Creek had already been down for a month and a half with a different resurfacing company. She called Pools Unlimited, and the crew came 3 days later and finished in 1 week.
She closed the review by saying she would definitely recommend us to anyone looking for a new build or resurfacing. That is the schedule discipline we aim to bring to every commercial job, from the first consult through the weekly build updates to the written warranty at handoff.

The paperwork we handle
Four agencies, one point of contact
Commercial pool compliance in Texas involves multiple agencies, multiple inspections and a lot of documentation. Most property owners do not want to manage that process, and they should not have to.
- TDLRTexas Department of Licensing and Regulation: contractor licensing and pool inspections.
- TCEQTexas Commission on Environmental Quality: public pool permitting and water quality standards.
- ADAADA Standards for Accessible Design: entry, egress and facility requirements.
- LocalMunicipal or county permitting: site plan approval, zoning and building permits.
New commercial pools are built in gunite the same way our residential pools are, and you can read how that works on the custom gunite pools page. An existing pool that needs new plaster, tile or equipment is covered under pool renovations, and decks, shade structures and fire features sit under outdoor living. Lender options are listed on the financing page, and the first consult starts on the contact page.
